This is a very unusual ring in 10K yellow gold. After extensive research online, the best i can come up with is that this lovely stone is a purple/red ruby. It is a 9x7mm oval opaque stone with a lovely purplish red color. The ring is a size 7 and entire ring is 3.1 grams. It is in excellent vintage condition.
I can not make out the engraving very good. It looks like SO 10K. I originally thought it said 14K. I have lost my good loupe and the other one isn’t very helpful.
