Shield Shaped Antique Victorian Pin Gold Topped with S of V A Engraved on the Top

Very Early shield shaped pin with S of V A inscribed on the top. I couldn't find one just like it on the web and it was suggested that it might be Sons of Veterans Auxiliary but I couldn't find any other like it. It could be as much as 150 years old but I think it might be closer to 100. Maybe it is from WW!. It is small, measuring 5/8x1/2" and is gold topped. It is not marked.
